Anikode, a place dear to our heart, our village, river, ganapathy, shastha temple, Kavil amme (mother) meenkolathi kaavu offering solace lives deep down within us….a perspective most of us adore and with great gratitude cherish it, either living in Anikode agraharam or anywhere in the world. In modern world, with people spread across the globe, this website volunteers to help connect people having grassroots from this village providing insights to Anikode village upcoming events and extending Kavil amme's open arms for everyone to grace the occasions.
The Agraharam is believed to be one of the 18 settlements of Tamil Brahmin in the region of kerala State. History says these settlers have migrated from Kandarmanikyam village near Kumbakonam from the adjacent state of Tamil Nadu.
Near to the Anikode village, Sokanasini River flows with grandeur, which is of a great source for the surrounding area's residents. The river is so picturesic with lush green everywhere, used for cultivation and other purposes. It has sacred adimakaavu's ( house temples ) Kavil Bhagavathy kaavu, Meenkolithi kaavu, where people belonging to it, visit and pray for there family well beings. It also has Lord Ganapathi and Sastha temple in the village, for which the Kumbhabhishekam is going to take place in 2017.
Most of the Village settlers have left the village for there livelihood in different parts of the country as well as overseas. But most of them gather to meet each other during the annual 'Sasthapreethi' or during the once in 12 year fete, the Mahakumbhabishekam of the Dharmasastha – Mahaganapathy temple.
The Village is located 10 kms from palakkad Railway stn and around 35 kms from coimbatore ( Airport ). It is close to Pudur and Kottayi villages. It comes under Kuzhalmanam Taluk, Palakkad District of Kerala State. Its Post office comes under Mathur village.
